According to Pew Research, the Latino population in the United States has reached nearly 58 million in 2016 and has been the principal driver of U.S. demographic growth, accounting for half of national population growth since 2000. However, due to the current Presidential administration's policies regarding illegal immigration, DACA, empowerment of ICE and its stance on patrolling our borders, many in the Latino community are living in a state of constant fear. Mauricio Calvo, Executive Director of the advocacy organization, Latino Memphis, visits Funky Politics to shed some light on what its like being Hispanic in America and what their "New Normal" is really like.
